A cathode ray tube is provided to prevent doming and micro phonic phenomenon of a shadow mask by installing a reinforcing member on the shadow mask for tensioning the shadow mask. A shadow mask(12) is provided with punched portions through which an electron beam(40) passes. A panel(10) is parallel with the shadow mask, and phosphor(11) is applied on an inner surface of the panel. A reinforcing member is integrally formed with the shadow mask to reduce contraction or expansion of the shadow mask due to heat or vibration. The reinforcing member has a compensation wire(50) for forcibly supporting the shadow mask towards the panel.
