<p>During operation, the gear (3) casing (4) is moved back and forth slightly around the axis (2), through an angular range within -0.5[deg] to +0.5[deg]. This motion is effected at the tooth meshing frequency of the gear wheels. The back and forth motion is a function of the roller casing (1) vibration, especially a function of its amplitude and/or frequency. Control is such that vibration is minimal at the fundamental tooth meshing frequency and its harmonics. Vibration is detected by a non-contacting displacement sensor, especially based on eddy current- or laser technology, the sensors being arranged within the roller interior. Back and forth movement of the gear casing is effected through a torque support (9) comprising an actuator (13) connected to a base (14). An independent claim IS INCLUDED FOR corresponding equipment.</p> |
