A composition having the formula I where R<SUP>1 </SUP>and R<SUP>2 </SUP>are independently hydrogen, C<SUB>1 </SUB>to C<SUB>12 </SUB>linear and branched alkyl, C<SUB>3 </SUB>to C<SUB>12 </SUB>cycloalkyl, aryl, C<SUB>1 </SUB>to C<SUB>12 </SUB>alkoxy, F, Cl, SO<SUB>3</SUB>, C<SUB>1 </SUB>to C<SUB>12 </SUB>perfluoroalkyl, and N(CH<SUB>3</SUB>)<SUB>2</SUB>, R<SUP>3 </SUP>is independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, C<SUB>1 </SUB>to C<SUB>12 </SUB>linear and branched alkyl, C<SUB>3 </SUB>to C<SUB>12 </SUB>cycloalkyl, aryl, and 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl, A is -C(R<SUP>4</SUP>)-, -(CH<SUB>2</SUB>)<SUB>x</SUB>-, -(CH<SUB>2</SUB>)<SUB>x</SUB>NH(CH<SUB>2</SUB>)<SUB>x</SUB>-, or -CY<SUB>2</SUB>CY<SUB>2</SUB>-, where R<SUP>4 </SUP>is a hydrocarbyl, halosubstituted hydrocarbyl, or alkoxy group of from 1 to 12 carbon atoms, x is an integer from 1 to 12, and Y is halogen, and X is halogen, triflate, acetate, trifluoroacetate, hydride, or tetrafluoroborate.
