A refrigerator is provided to reduce strength or frequency of frictional noise generated in a cooling chamber by thermal contraction or expansion of a shelf according to the change of temperature in the cooling chamber. A refrigerator includes a main body, at least one or more cooling chambers formed in the main body and storing objects, a supporting part formed by a cavity of the cooling chamber, and a shelf element supported in contact with the supporting part and loading the objects thereon. A contact element is provided to one of the supporting part or the shelf element for achieving point contact or linear contact between the supporting element and the shelf element, thereby preventing frictional noise generated by the thermal contraction or expansion of the shelf element. |
