FIELD: metallurgy; plasma. ^ SUBSTANCE: said utility invention relates to the plasma metallurgy or, more specifically, to methods of obtaining superhard compounds in the plasma jet. The plasma supporting gas mixture is fed to the discharge chamber of the arc plasmatron, and titanium to be melted is entered into the plasma jet. The plasmatron has coaxially installed electrodes. As the gas mixture, a mixture of nitrogen and propane-butane is used; titanium is entered into the plasma jet in the form of wire with a diameter of 2 mm. The plasma temperature is maintained within 6000 to 8000 C; the compound obtained in the incandescent gas consists of TiC and TiN. The method allows to enhance the synthesis of hard materials. ^ EFFECT: enhanced synthesis of hard materials. ^ 1 dwg |
