摘要 An automatic carrier vehicle and a method of controlling the same are provided to secure a safe distance with respect to a rotational radius of an object being rotated to the automatic carrier vehicle by installing a safety bar on a body of the automatic vehicle, thereby preventing the rotating object from injuring a worker and preventing halting of a production line due to safety accidents. An automatic carrier vehicle includes a body(5) having a loader/un-loader unit(50) for mounting an object to be transported. A robot unit transfers the object onto the loader/un-loader unit, and rotates the object. A safety bar is connected to the body, and secures a safety distance with respect to the rotational radius of the object being rotated by a rotary unit(16). A piston is installed on the body, and lifts the safety bar. The safety bar is extended more than the rotational radius of the object being rotated. The object being transported is a cassette loaded with a substrate. A method of controlling the automatic carrier vehicle comprises the steps of: preparing the automatic carrier vehicle having a body equipped with the loader/un-loader unit, and driving wheels, the safety bar and the robot unit; moving the automatic carrier vehicle to a port having an object to be transported; loading the object to the robot unit; operating the safety bar to secure the safe distance with respect to the rotational radius of the object being rotated; and loading the object onto the loader/un-loader unit by rotating the robot unit.
