A module type backlight unit is provided to modularize the backlight unit including a plurality of CCFLs(Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamps) to reduce the power consumption and realize the reduction of thickness. A light guiding plate(11) has a display panel(10) disposed on a front surface thereof. An inverter(14) is installed on a rear surface of the light guiding plate, wherein the inverter has input connectors(12) and output connectors(13). A plurality of CCFLs is installed on the rear surface of the light guiding plate, wherein each of the CCFLs has a connector(15), which is to be connected to the inverter. Two CCFLs are disposed in parallel with each other by using CCFL installing members(17), which are vertically extended at both sides of the rear surface of the light guiding plate. |
