The system has a combustion chamber (9) comprising a pressure sensor (13) sensing pressure of gas in the chamber and injectors (2) e.g. common rail injector, controlled by a logical controller (4). The controller is connected to the sensor for calculating an instantaneous average torque of the chamber. The sensor is placed in a wall of the chamber. The controller has a feedback loop (7) determining the quantity of fuel to be injected in the chamber based on a comparison between an average torque threshold and the instantaneous average torque of the chamber. An independent claim is also included for a method of controlling injection for a heat engine.
