A method for surface treatment of a polymer resin and a carrier for cell adhesion obtained thereby are provided to modify the surface of the polymer resin, thereby producing a carrier having the improvement in cell adhesion and cell growth control. A method for surface treatment of a polymer resin comprises pulse plasma polymerization of the polymer resin using an amine-based monomer while maintaining a pulse frequency of 1,000 Hz or below and a duty cycle of 100% or less. Preferably the amine-based monomer is allylamine. In the method, the polymer resin is at least one resin selected from the group consisting of polystyrene, polypropylene, polyethylene terephthalate, polyvinyl chloride and polyolefin.
