Dirty liquid treating apparatus (10) includes dirty vessel (11), conveyor (20) and sludge removing means (40) having magnet drum (42). The magnet drum (42) is disposed in liquid circulation zone (32). The dirty liquid treating apparatus (10) is equipped with overflow tank (31). The overflow tank (31) functions so as to maintain the liquid surface (Q) of the dirty vessel (11) in a position superior to the liquid circulation zone (32) and the magnet drum (42). The magnet drum (42) is disposed horizontally between downside portion (20a) and upside portion (20b) of the conveyor (20). The conveyor (20) scoops out shavings having sunk on bottom (11a) of the dirty vessel (11) toward a discharge area. Shaving member (45) in contact with the magnet drum (42) drops sludge attracted on the magnet drum (42) toward the downside portion (20a) of the conveyor (20).
