PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of outputting a display video at different cycles from those of a capture video, without generating tearing. SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus is so configured that image data captured by a VCC 104 are sequentially written in three depiction areas (triple buffer), formed on a video memory 3, and a CPC 105 sequentially reads out the image data; and when the write-in processing by the VCC 104 catches up with the read-out processing by the CPC 105, capturing is halted for one cycle; and conversely, when the read-out processing by the CPC 105 catches up with the write-in processing by the VCC 104, the same depiction area is read out continuously. As a result, during read-out processing from the depiction areas by the CPC 105, writing in of the VCC 104 to the depiction areas is eliminated, and tearing can be prevented.
