PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector having an illuminating angle correction system capable of easily correcting an illuminating direction by using an external device. SOLUTION: The projector includes: a screen 108 for projecting a picture on it; an emitting section 100 having a lens capable of projecting a picture on the screen and a rotating shaft for changing an emitting direction; infrared ray emitting device 107 attached to the screen and used for emitting an infrared ray; an infrared ray detecting section 101 for receiving an infrared ray emitted from the infrared ray emitting device; a plurality of detection panels 106 disposed within the infrared ray detecting section and at an angle to a horizontal face; a level determining section 102 for determining the level of the infrared ray detected by the detection panels; and a control section 103 for controlling the rotating shaft according to the level of the infrared ray. In this configuration, it is possible to easily correct displacement of an image caused by forward, backward, leftward or rightward inclination to the screen. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
