The device (1) has a receiving hopper provided with a discharge opening (11) for receiving goods (2). A conveyor belt (3) is attached to the discharge opening and provided as a supply device with a dropping edge (5). The receiving hopper, conveyor belt and sort station are mounted on a machine frame under a condition that the discharge opening of the receiving hopper, an upper run of the conveyor belt and its dropping edge are arranged on same height.
