PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve display of status information according to the situation of a user while restraining an operation load of the user. SOLUTION: "An action rule" for changing a manner for displaying the status information of a buddy, and "an application situation" showing a situation where the action rule is applied are stored in advance. For instance, according to rule information of an action ID "2", a buddy list "job purpose" is used as a display target during 9-17 o'clock. Thereby, a buddy list according to the situation of the user is automatically displayed. According to rule information of the action ID "2", a filter "working" is used during 8-17 o'clock. The filter specifies that update notification of status information annunciated from a communication address other than "*Ðfujitsu.com" should not be displayed.
