PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a writing utensil, wherein a cap is prevented from coming off a pen point side even when the utensil is fallingly cast into the opening part of a display case or the like. SOLUTION: The outer peripheral part of the opening end of the cap 4 under the condition being installed on the pen point side of a writing utensil main body 2 projects radially outwards beyond the outer peripheral part of the writing utensil main body 2 at the rear of the opening end of the cap 4. An annular guiding projection 3 is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the writing utensil main body 2. An annular inclined surface 41 is formed on the outer peripheral part of the opening end of the cap 4. Under the condition that the cap 4 is installed on the pen point side of the writing utensil main body 2, the radial difference D between the top part of the guiding projection 3 and the rear end of the annular inclined surface 41 is set to be≤0.6 mm. In addition, at the fore surface 31 and rear surface 32 of the guiding projection 3, a tapered surface or roundly curved surface is provided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
