PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bed of a machine tool having the effect on weight reduction in the machine tool, by improving strength of the bed of the machine tool. SOLUTION: A first rib 20 having the thickness thicker than another rib 19 is arranged on a line of connecting respective support points A of the bed 1. A second rib 21 having the thickness thicker than the other rib 19 is also arranged under a guide means of a moving body laid on an upper part of the bed 1. One front cutout part 1a and two rear cutout parts 1b and 1b are also respectively arranged outside the respective support points A in an outer peripheral surface of the bed 1.
