An electric iron capable of quickly cooling comprises an ironing base and a shell, wherein an ironing plate is located at the bottom of the ironing base. Said shell comprises a shell wall, which covers the upside of the ironing plate of the ironing base, and an accommodating chamber defined by the shell wall. In order to improve the security of the electric iron just after using, the present iron is characterized by that many holes are located on the shell wall, many cooling fins are mounted on the ironing plate, said fins protrude toward above, and a fan is installed in the accommodating chamber to emit the hot air to the accommodating chamber with the aid of the cooling fins, and discharge the inner hot air from the holes by the running of the fan, so as to cool quickly and improve the security of the electric iron just after using.
