The cover (1) has at least one opening flap, (2,3) e.g. bounded by preferred break lines (5), that hinges outwards about a hinge axis when the airbag device is activated. The hinge axis has at least one section arranged in a different plane than the greatest part of the associated opening flap and inclined so that the opening flap passes a body part, e.g. the chin, of a person sitting in front of the cover when the airbag is activated. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a steering wheel with an integral driver's airbag device (B) and a motor vehicle with an airbag device.
