PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera system in which an image equal with the image represented by image data obtained by an imaging element provided in a camera head is restored at a camera body side. SOLUTION: A control unit 19a at a side of the camera head causes a check data appending means 141a to append check data for each pixel and uses an image data transmitting means 150a to sequentially transmit pixel data with the check data appended thereto to a camera body. The camera body 1b uses an image data receiving means 150b to receive image data, separates the check data and the image data, then supplies the pixel data to a digital signal processing circuit 103b and also supplies the check data to an error check means 152b. A control unit 100b notifies the digital signal processing circuit 103b about the position of an error detected by the error check means 152b and makes the digital signal processing circuit 103b correct the error.
