PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focal-plate shutter for a digital still camera which has a front blade and a rear blade and in which the front blade remains near the position of exposure termination during setting, speedily moves to the position of exposure initiation at the initial stage after the depression of the release button of the camera and suitably stops. SOLUTION: A first drive member 16 for the front blade and a second drive member 17 for the front blade, to which the front blade is connected, are mounted coaxially, and a set spring 34 is laid in the arm 36 of the front blade. Drive springs 26 and 23 are laid in a rear drive member 19, to which the rear blade is connected, and the drive member 17. A set member 27 rotates a restraining member 28 by the engagement of a projection 27e and an engagement part 28b. When in the set position, the set member 27 restrains the drive member 16 in the vicinity of the position of exposure termination by the contact of a restraining part 28a and a restrained part 16b. When returning to its initial position, the set member 27 causes the drive member 16 to follow the set member 27 until it immediately returns. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
