The pump has lift gears that are axially displaceable relative to each other for adjusting lift, and a suction channel (3) supplying suction oil. The suction channel has a partition plate (8) for flow partition and/or flow guidance. The partition plate has minimum backlash to the outer contour of lift gear wheels (4, 5) and/or pressure piston (6), at its end area, where oil flow with corresponding increased flow rate is led directly on an axially reduced contact area of the gear wheels in the suction channel, during partial oil production of the pump.
