<p>Disclosed is a process for producing a glucopyranosyloxypyrazole derivative which is useful as a prophylactic or therapeutic agent for a disease induced by hyperglycemia, such as diabetes, a diabetes complication and obesity. A process for producing a glucopyranosyloxypyrazole derivative readily and efficiently, the process comprising reacting a benzylpyrazole derivative represented by the general formula: wherein R<sup>1</sup>, R<sup>2</sup>, R<sup>3</sup>, R<sup>4</sup> and R<sup>5</sup> independently represent, for example, a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or an alkyl, alkoxy or arylmethyloxy group; R<sup>6</sup> represents an alkyl group; and R<sup>7</sup> represents, for example, a hydrogen atom or an alkyl, alkoxy or arylmethyloxy group; with a compound represented by the general formula: wherein PG<sup>1</sup> represents, for example, a pivaloyl group; and X<sup>1</sup> represents, for example, a bromine atom. This process is quite useful as the process for producing a pharmaceutical.</p> |
