A method for producing a contoured metallic casting core is provided to obtain an investment casting core having a smooth and continuous tapered shape and useful as constitutional element of a super-alloy turbine engine. A method for producing an investment casting core from a metallic blank having a width between a first surface and a second surface parallel with each other and a thickness smaller than the length crossing the width, comprises: a step(202) of locally thinning the blank from at least one of the first surface and the second surface; and a step(206) of penetrating and cutting the blank across the thickness. The penetrating and cutting step is performed by at least one of stamping, laser cutting, liquid jet cutting and electrical discharge machining. |
