LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND FABRICATING METHOD OF THE SAME

A liquid crystal display device and a fabricating method thereof are provided to prevent performance degradation of a thin film transistor and to improve reliability and capacitance of the device. A liquid crystal display device comprises a substrate(100), a plurality of gate lines(112), a data line, a thin film transistor, a protective film(161) and a pixel electrode(171). The plurality of the gate lines is formed on the substrate. The data line is crossed with the gate line. The thin film transistor is formed in a cross area of the gate line and the data line. The protective film is formed on the substrate comprising the thin film transistor, and has a protrusion(162) which is a partially projected part of the protective film. The pixel electrode is connected with the thin film transistor electrically. The protrusion is formed correspondingly to a non-transmission area of the substrate.
