<p>An electric apparatus, a printing apparatus, a program, and expendables are provided to notify a user of the necessity of the renewing the firm ware by the exchanging the operation of the expendables. An electric apparatus includes an expendable version information maintaining unit(123), an own machine version information maintaining unit(125), a version information comparing unit(127) and a renewing message notifying unit(129). The expendable version information maintaining unit maintains the version information of the firm ware which is decoded from the information media of the expendable which is installed on the own machine. The own machine version information maintaining unit maintains the version information of the firm ware which is used by the own machine. The version information comparing unit compares the version information of the expendable and the version information of the own machine. The renewing message notifying unit displays the message to urge the renewing of the firm ware to the displaying unit of the own machine or another machine when the version information of the expendable is newer than the version information of the own machine.</p> |
