SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR IDENTIFYING ORIGINAL DESIGN INTENTS USING 3D SCAN DATA

A system and a method for identifying original design intents by using 3D scan data are provided to make user extract and control the solid and the surface modeling parameters from the unprocessed 3D scan data by the program. A method for identifying original design intents by using 3D scan data includes the steps of; providing the set of the 3D scan data which shows the shape of the 3D object(110); dividing the mash model to the mash area through the dividing device(114); selecting the type of the design intents which are the mash area and the original design characteristic(116); and calculating the approximate value about the selected type of the design intents according to the selected mash area by the program(118). The 3D scan data is coupled as the mash which is coupled as the mash model which shows the 3D object. The calculating step uses the 3D scan data about the selected mash area.
