<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of solving a problem on the deterioration of image quality caused by oozing-out of contaminant from an electrifying roller by coping therewith on the image forming apparatus side, and coping therewith by using an existent member without providing a large-scaled device which can not evade cost rise. <P>SOLUTION: An environment monitor part 35 uses a temperature and humidity detection sensor 33 detecting temperature and humidity to monitor environment in the apparatus, a stopping time monitor part 34 monitors time when the rotation of the photoreceptor is stopped, and a number-of-rotating times calculation part 32 calculates the number of rotating times necessary for removing substance oozing out from the electrifying roller 2 and adhering to the photoreceptor by rotating the photoreceptor is calculated based on monitored results by both monitor parts 34 and 35.
