PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a near-infrared ray-absorbing compound (diimmonium salt compound) excellent in heat resistance and moisture resistance, and to provide a near-infrared ray-absorbing composition including the same, a near-infrared ray-absorbing filter and a front panel for display. SOLUTION: The invention relates to the diimmonium salt compound having a structure represented by formula (1). In the formula (1), at least one of R<SB>1</SB>-R<SB>8</SB>is an isoamyl group, X is an anion exhibited by (RfSO<SB>2</SB>)-N<SP>-</SP>-(SO<SB>2</SB>Rf'), (Rf and Rf' are each a 1-4C fluoroalkyl group).
