PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel heterocyclic oxyacetic amide compound that exhibits high effect against plant diseases, particularly against downy mildew and epidemic and shows high safety without drug disaster on the field crops and provide a bactericide including the compound as an active ingredient, particularly a bactericide for agriculture and horticulture. SOLUTION: The heterocyclic oxyacetic amide compound (including optical isomers) is represented by general (I)(wherein Het is a five-membered heterocyclic ring or a six-membered heterocyclic ring; R is H, a halogen, an alkyl, a cycloalkyl, an alkoxy, trialkylsilyl, phenyl which may be substituted or a heterocyclic ring which may be substituted; n is an integer of 1 or 2; z is an alkyl or a cyanoalkyl).
