PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeding device and an image forming device which has various paper feeding passages, capable of shortening downtime for switching trays by commonly using a drive source for rollers, and preventing jamming caused by a transfer sheet which is strongly set in a feed roller and a reverse roller. SOLUTION: This paper feeding device 53 which rotates the first roller 22 when the transfer sheet S is fed from the first paper feeding passage P4 and reverses the first roller 22 when the transfer sheet S is fed from the second paper feeding passage P2 has a pair of separate rollers 21 which separates and feeds the transfer sheet S from a paper feeding tray 19 toward the second paper feeding passage P2, and an engagement/disengagement device 21g which rotatingly drives the pair of separate rollers 21 using a driving device 50 and engaging/disengaging the driving force transmitted to the pair of separate rollers 21 from the driving device 50.
