PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reproduction processing method for an optical device which enables easy and sure information destruction at a desired place while efficiently separating and recovering substrate materials and metals constituting the optical disk. SOLUTION: The outer/inner peripheral parts of the optical disk are cut off beforehand so as to execute disk separation in a metallic reflective layer while destroying recorded information by inserting the optical disk through a pair of rollers of a rolling mill once to several times. The separated optical disks are immersed into a nitric acid solution for about two to five minutes so as to obtain two resin substrates from which the metallic reflective layer is removed. Unwanted layers (such as an adhesive layer, overcoat layer, and printing layer) remaining on the resin substrates are mechanically separated so as to recover the resin substrates at high purity. On the other hand, metals are recovered from the nitric acid solution, in which the metallic reflective layer is dissolved, by a method such as electrolysis. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
