<p>The present invention relates, in general, to optical waveguides and, more particularly, to an optical waveguide, which can realize the efficient transmission of light and the attainment of uniform brightness without requiring a diffusion sheet for correcting luminance to make it uniform. Further, the present invention provides an optical waveguide, the optical waveguide dispersing light incident from a light source, placed on one side of the optical waveguide, to cause the light to be transmitted through a top surface of the optical waveguide. The top surface has repeating patterns formed thereon, the patterns having an arbitrary width. The patterns protrude from the top surface to a predetermined height, which varies as the patterns become distant from the light source.</p> |
