摘要 An electrolyte matrix for a fuel cell is provided to form a fuel cell that is operable at high temperature, prevents poisoning caused by carbon monoxide, and does not require a humidifying device for maintaining ion conductivity of an electrolyte. An electrolyte matrix for a fuel cell includes a porous matrix, and an inorganic compound which is contained in pores of the porous matrix and has a melting point of 170 °C or higher. The porous matrix is formed of silicon carbide or metal nickel. The inorganic compound is sodium hydrogen sulfate. A fuel cell includes a battery stack in which membrane/electrode assemblies having a positive electrode and a negative electrode(540) joined to both surfaces of the electrolyte matrix(550) are alternately stacked.
