<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage device having a function excellent in reliability in determining right or wrong of stored information. <P>SOLUTION: A complex machine includes an ASIC 10, an SDRAM 20, a power source circuit 40, a backup power source 80 and a backup power source monitoring IC 60. The circuit 40 rectifies an AC-voltage applied from a main power source via a power source cord (not shown) to step down it to a prescribed low DC-voltage and supplies it to each device. When the power supply through the main power source is shut off, the power source 80 supplies a power source voltage to the SDRAM 20. The machine uses the backup power source voltage monitoring IC to monitor the variations in the power source voltage from the power source 80, and based on the variation, the machine determines right or wrong of stored information during backup. Since the variations in the power source voltage becomes underlying cause to pose a failure (storage fault) in the SDRAM 20, determining right or wrong of stored data on the basis of the variations inevitably poses a determining result with high reliability. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
