PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination device which facilitates a systematic control of calling lamps and representative lamps in the same installation island unit. SOLUTION: The illumination device comprises the calling lamps 8 provided for respective game machines arranged in the installation island unit, and representative lamps 4, 6 arranged in edges of the installation island unit 2. Each of the calling lamps 8 and the representative lamps 4, 6 comprises a light source, a memory for storing therein a plurality of light source control patterns, a control circuit for controlling the light source from the control patterns stored in the memory, an infrared communication means for receiving infrared communication, and a remote control for transmitting a selecting signal of the light source control pattern by the infrared communication. Herein the calling lamps 8 and the representative lamps 4, 6 in the installation island unit are connected to each other via a communication line 24. Then the representative lamps 4, 6, upon reception of the selecting signal from the remote control 30, control the light source depending on the control pattern corresponding to the selecting signal, and transmit the received selecting signal to each calling lamp 8 via the communication line 24.
