PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve fuel economy and increase output by improving ignitability. SOLUTION: This structure for a combustion chamber of an engine includes an intake inclined surface 21 provided with intake valves 23, 23 and an exhaust inclined surface 22 provided with exhaust valves 24, 24 and is formed in a vent roof shape. The structure is provided with a top part 25 connecting the intake inclined surface 21 and the exhaust inclined surface 22 and forming an upper end of the combustion chamber, a spark plug 18 provided on the top part 25, and a groove part 26 which is a depression formed on the top part 25 and extends along the top part 25 from the spark plug 18.
