PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact sieving and cooling apparatus for casting sand which can effectively cooling casting sand having no sand chunk. SOLUTION: A tank body 1 partitioned by a sieving member 3 comprises a sieving chamber 4 for casting sand and a storage chamber 5 for sieved casting sand, and is tiltable. The tank body 1 is provided with an openable/closable throwing port 7 communicating with the sieving chamber 4 and being upward when tilting the tank body 1, and further provided with an openable/closable discharge port 9 communicating with a storage chamber 5 and being downward when tilting the tank body 1. The storage chamber 5 has an air jetting mechanism 10 for jetting air toward the sieving member 3, so that the flowability of the casting sand is increased to shorten discharging speed and sieving time of the casting sand. The tilting of the tank body makes the throwing port upward or the discharge port downward, thereby shortening the throwing/discharging time of the casting sand. Furthermore, the casting sand in the sieving chamber and storage chamber is cooled by air, thereby shortening the cooling time. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
