A pouch type lithium secondary battery is provided to ensure mechanical strength and to embody a round-shape profile by covering a pouch type bare cell with reinforcing members. A pouch type lithium secondary battery includes: an electrode assembly which comprises a first electrode plate with a first electrode tap, a second electrode plate with a second electrode tap, and a separator interposed between the first electrode plate and the second electrode plate; a pouch type bare cell(100) comprising a pouch for accommodating the electrode assembly; a first reinforcing member(310) comprising a first flat plane(311), a first one side(313) which is bent at a facing edge(312) of the first plane to cover the pouch type bare cell, and a first opposite side(314); and a second reinforcing member(320) comprising a second flat plane(321) which faces the first plane of the first reinforcing member to interpose the pouch type bare cell between the first and second planes, and a second one side(323) and a second opposite side(324) which are connected with the first one side and first opposite side of the first reinforcing member to form round-shape surfaces. |
