LIGHT EMITTING DIODE AND WAVELENGTH CONVERTING MATERIAL

A light emitting diode and a wavelength converting material are provided to obtain improved luminance by activating light having a wavelength lambda1 in order to emit light having a wavelength lambda 2. A wavelength converting material(300) includes a wavelength converting active agent(310) suitable for being activated by a wavelength lambda1 in order to emit light having a wavelength lambda 2 and a scattering agent(320) arranged on the wavelength converting active agent in order to scatter the light to be irradiated onto a surface thereof. The wavelength converting material is selected from a fluorescent material, a phosphoric material, dye, and a combination of the fluorescent material, the phosphoric material, and the dye.
