PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monochrome frame detection method low in calculation cost.
SOLUTION: A frame discrimination section 10a reads luminance values and hue values of all sample pixels 200a to calculate a luminance average value 1100A and a hue average value 1101A, which are stored (S8). Then each luminance value and each hue value of each sample pixel 200a are compared with the luminance average value 1100A and the hue average value 1101A (No in S5), and it is verified whether or not the absolute difference between each luminance value and the luminance average value 1100A and the absolute difference between each hue value and the hue average value 1101A are respectively smaller than a threshold value a (S6). When the luminance and hue values of all the sample pixels 200a do not exceed the threshold value a (Yes in S6, and Yes in S5), an object frame is discriminated to be a monochrome frame (S9) and a count of a counter 1102A of monochrome frame information 110A is incremented by 1 (S10). When the count of the counter 1102A exceeds a threshold value b (Yes in S11), it is discriminated that the luminance average value 1100A and the hue average value 1101A are the average values for defining the monochrome frame of a video file 100 and stored as reference values (S12).
COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
