PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal and a control program thereof capable of effectively utilizing resources. SOLUTION: The mobile terminal 100 making communication with an external storage device 300 includes: a mode setting section 21 for setting one of a first mode wherein an image memory 7 stores image data obtained by photographing processing and a second mode wherein the stored image data are subjected to reproduction processing; a transfer processing section 81 for applying transfer processing to the image data stored in the image memory 7 to the external storage device 300 in the first mode; a control section 3 for starting the reproduction processing and continuing the transfer processing when the first mode is switched to the second mode during the execution of the transfer processing; and a control section 5 that stores the image data whose transfer processing is finished at the image memory 7 as image data for awaiting deletion in the second mode and deletes the image data for awaiting the deletion from the image memory 7 when the second mode is switched to the first mode.
