PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting water leakage in a water barrier sheet which detects the occurrence of breakage of a water barrier sheet and specifies a place at which the breakage occurs, the method for preventing the leaked water from exuding into a foundation even if the water barrier sheet is broken, for specifying a place at which the breakage occurs, making it easy to conduct a water-collecting pipe arrangement operation for collecting the leaked water, and for preventing the leaked water from exuding into the foundation even if the pipes are broken. SOLUTION: In the method for detecting water leakage in a water barrier sheet, a water barrier sheet structure 4 comprising upper and lower water barrier sheets 4a and 4b is installed, and the space 5 between the upper and lower water barrier sheets is divided into a plurality of sections 8, and then leaked water from the water barrier sheet is detected. In this case, water-collecting pipes 9 are connected to water-discharging holes 10 provided in the water barrier sheets 4a and 4b, and the water-collecting pipes 9 are arranged over the water barrier sheet 4a.
