The circuit arrangement has switching contacts (S1`-S6`) and relay contacts (R1`-R3`), where one of the switching contacts is designed for switching of two functions. The switching contacts and the relay contacts are interconnected such that a specific function of the switching contacts is assigned based on switching of one of the switching contacts and/or one of the relay contacts. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a circuit arrangement.
