<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small and inexpensive image reading apparatus capable of concurrently and accurately inputting living body features such as a finger print of a finger, a blood vessel, etc. using a 2-dimensional image sensor. <P>SOLUTION: Regarding a finger 7 to be placed on an upper surface of the 2-dimensional image sensor 1, an image caused by radiated lights to be radiated from its surface is photographed under illumination with a light source 3b of a narrow light emitting wavelength band of a near-infrared wavelength corresponding to an absorption spectrum of hemoglobin, and is photographed again after switching to a light source 3a of a narrow light emitting wavelength band except for a near-infrared wavelength corresponding to the absorption spectrum of the hemoglobin. Then a finger print image is to be removed by taking difference between an image which is photographed under the light source 3b and an image which is photographed under the light source 3b, thereby an image of only the blood vessel is acquired. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
