<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of minimizing disturbance of a toner image resulting from a peeling discharge applied to separate a transfer material from a transfer material conveying means, and capable of restraining a bias applied to the separating part and a transfer bias from interfering with each other. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: image carriers 1; the transfer material conveying means 7; a transfer means 5d for transferring a toner image on the image carrier 1 to the surface of a transfer material P conveyed while held on the transfer material conveying means 7; a transfer bias output means 51d for outputting a transfer bias to the transfer means 5d; a bias application member 71 for applying a bias to the separating part D where the transfer material P is separated from the transfer material conveying means 7; and a separating part bias output means 73 for outputting a bias to the bias application member 71.
