<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for raising plants, capable of surely cultivating and raising plants in spite of requiring no troublesome sunlight management and watering work. <P>SOLUTION: This apparatus for raising plants is composed of an apparatus main body having an opening part on the upper part, and a covering body blocking the opening part. The apparatus main body has hygroscopicity and sealing performance, and the covering body has hygroscopicity and a translucent surface having transmittance in a set range. The apparatus main body keeps a sealed condition when blocking the apparatus main body opening part by the covering body. The method for raising plants comprises using the apparatus, interior arranging in the apparatus, a plant raising bed previously finished in work such as sowing/young seedling planting/cutting and made of a nonwoven fabric and other seedling bed mat, and a cell tray and other trays, watering either before or after arranging, blocking to keep the apparatus main body in a closed condition, and raising plants while naturally circulating evaporated water in the apparatus main body 1.
