PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active energy curable type inkjet recorder capable of performing the recording of high quality images on various kinds of recording media and allowing the cost of the recorder to be reduced. SOLUTION: This active energy curable type inkjet recorder 10 applies ink curable by the active energy on a recording medium S1 by means of inkjet heads 16a-16d to form an image by curing the ink applied on the recording medium S1 while irradiating the ink with the active energy. The inkjet recorder 10 comprises ultra pressure mercury arc lamps 18a-18d as light sources for emitting the active energy and a demarcation/separation means 23 for demarcating the ultra pressure mercury arc lamps 18a-18d to separate them from a conveyance/scanning section 14 or the inkjet heads 16a-16d adjacent thereto.
