PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric kettle capable of minutely controlling the light intensity from light emitting devices, and enabling the easy visual checking on its operating state and temperature. SOLUTION: This electric kettle 10 which comprises: an inner container 15 for storing water; a heating means (heater 16 or 17) for heating a liquid in the inner container 15; a hot-water supply means (pump 19) by which the water in the inner container 15 is poured out of a spout at the top of an outer casing, including a water pumping pipe 20 at least part of which is transparent; and an observation window 21 provided along a position corresponding to that of the water pumping pipe 20 of the outer casing which enables the remaining water volume in the inner container 15 to be checked by checking a water level in the water pumping pipe 20 from it; is also provided with two or more light emitting devices 29a and 29b which are different in light emission color at the lower part of the water pumping pipe 20, as well as a drive unit 33 for generating a pulse signal for controlling the light emission of the light emitting devices.
