The method involves generating a reference signal by a generator (1) and measuring a noise level by a spectrum analyzer (7). The reference signal of the generator is divided into two signal paths by power splitters (3, 6). The signal paths are combined with 180 degrees phase rotation. The reference signal of the generator is canceled by the phase difference of 180 degrees. The combined signal is supplied with noise portions of test objects (4, 5) to be measured for evaluating the spectrum analyzer. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement for measuring phase noises of two-gates of oscillators.
