The device has a solar sensor (1) detecting solar radiation (I), which is acquired by a partial-transparent or opened roof area (2) in a vehicle passenger compartment (3). A controller is connected with the solar sensor, and regulates temperature of air supplied to the vehicle passenger compartment for air conditioning, where a signal of the solar sensor is a reference variable of a control loop used by the controller. The sensor is arranged in an area of a control panel of a vehicle and detects the radiation (I) in a solid angle range.
